Mid Century Houston

Mid Century Chicago is becoming Mid Century Houston. After spending many years in Chicago I decided it was time to get back to my roots. Thank you Chicago for 7 wonderful years.

Heywood Wakefield "Plaza" Full Sized Headboard.

Here is a piece I've had for quite a while. This is a Heywood Wakefield "Plaza" Headboard in the wheat color. There is no frame included, but this piece will easily mount to any standard full sized bed frame. You WILL need to drill the holes to mount it, which is very easy. This is just one of those things I never got around too. The "Plaza" series was designed by Leo Jiranek, known as "The Dean of Furniture Design" in the mid 1940's. This is a great looking piece and if you're willing to add a little elbow grease to it you can have a mighty fine bed.

Delivery is available to Downtown and North Side residents for a small fee.

Wooden Lounge Chair

Here is a very comfy 1960's lounger. A long time ago someone tried to stain it a darker shade, they also had new cushions made with black Naugahyde. I would consider this piece unfinished, though it is perfectly usable as is. The cushion foam is still soft and spongy, The cushion covers are in great condition too, though there is a spot or two where the seams need to be resewn. This guy is a good candidate for customization. Structurally this chair is rock solid, adjust the cosmetics to your liking, and you would have a killer addition to your abode. The chair featured a wonderful spindle back and some great stylized ergonomic arms. Very comfy.

Delivery available to Downtown and North Side residents for a small fee. I would prefer anyone interested swing by and check the chair out in person first.

Steiger Elbow Sofa

Well, I don't want to, but I need to. Here is my beautiful, wonderful, amazing, super-comfortable custom made Steiger elbow sofa, made in Chicago about 50 years ago. It's long enough for two full size adults to lay on opposite ends and not have their feet touch! It's in amazing condition, no weird stains or smells, no cat hair or scratches. Babied all its life, I purchased it from it's original owners. It's super strong and sturdy, the back, and even the underside, are in PERFECT condition. If you got the room for it, this low back sofa is killer for parties, it easily seats eight with room to spare. The color is this cool earthy yellow with hints of orange and brown, sculpted dark walnut legs too. I'll be moving to Houston within the month and I have to make some tough choices about what comes and what goes. Come on by and take a seat, bring some friends, cause I got my seating game on lock down.

Set of 6 Kent Coffey Dining Chairs

Here's a set of 6 Kent Coffey, high back, walnut chairs. They are all in wonderful condition, very sturdy/solid. The seats are covered with Ikea fabric, which could be easily removed. Underneath the coverings is the original green-gold valor. Removing four screws from the underside of the chairs will allow you to take the seat bottoms off and uncover or recover the seats as you see fit. From what the previous owner told be the valor is very nice but clashed with her yellow dining room. I liked the pop of color, so I left them as they are. The chair backs feature a beautiful piece of "Y" shaped bent walnut and are very comfortable. Pair with a large walnut table for a killer look.
